Indonesian Team in Bocuse d’Or 2011 Lyon, France.
Ever since 1987, the Bocuse d’Or contest has been giving young chefs a unique opportunity to demonstrate their skills, offering them a tremendous springboard for their careers.
From one competition to the next, its international influence has grown constantly. With the successive creation of contests in Latin America, Asia and Europe, the Bocuse d’Or has become a showcase revealing outstanding talents and gastronomic trends from all over the world.
Beyond the competition itself, the Bocuse d’Or has created its own family: a global network of chefs, future celebrities and famous cooks, and partner companies. They all share the same values of creativity, rigor and innovation, are committed to passing on their skills … and have a passion for fine food and Art de Vivre. And now after all this years, Indonesia sent its team to this prestigious culinary competition. This team of two chefs lead by a Chef de Partie of Park Lane Hotel Jakarta; Guruh Nugraha. Assisted by young talented chef also from The Park Lane Hotel; Risky Hidayah. The team has competed from domestic to Asian Bocuse d’Or competition. And having the opportunity to compete in Lyon, France against most countries that highly appreciated culinary world is such an honor yet challenging.
Practicing and training and more practicing in Rotaryana showroom that provided the closest equipment and lay out of the Bocuse d’Or box, our team was coached by Gilles Marx , Stefu Santoso ( formerly Executive Chef The Park Lane Hotel), and Vindex Tengker (Executive Four Seasons Jakarta).

Having the first turn, on a first day, in the first booth, our team was quite nervous. Competing among 24 teams of 2 chefs, 24 countries, and 24 ways of cooking and presentation for the same Product; Monk fish for fish dish, and Scottish Lamb, for Meat dish. Though our team didn’t bring the trophy back home, but our participation in such prestigious competition has brought Indonesia to higher level in the International Culinary. And of course more confident in the upcoming international competition that have mission to wave Indonesian flag in the international culinary.
